A long-time member of Channel 4s Time Team, Raksha Dave is one of the countrys best loved archaeologists. Tim Taylor devised the name Time Team, and in 1992 a pilot episode was filmed in Dorchester-on-Thames. In 1994 January 16th until 2012.rip time team along with mick Aston ! Time Team has completed over 200 excavations (not including the documentaries and live programmes), around 50 of which were Scheduled Ancient Monuments, and a number were World Heritage Sites. I have told so many people about Time Team & my grand daughter has been trying to decide should she be an archaeologist or a geologist because of it. Our family love TT and watch it together. Its an opportunity to find new voices and should help launch a new generation of archaeologists, under the guidance and watchful eye of Mr Taylor! Without any doubt whatsoever Time Team was the best show on TV and a giant amongst the crappy stuff we have to put up with these days such as reality TV shows. The producers screwed it with the inevitable dumbing down and trying to make it a show for the 20 to 30 year olds. He also took part in the various spin-off series such as Time Team Extra (1998), Time Team Digs (2002) and Time Team Live. Great news that it is ending now we can have even more programs about yobs drinking abroad, crappy makeovers, the life of white van drivers and buying houses that cost 250,000 or more. I recommend Current Archaeology to young and old as a way of covering all eras and defining ones particular interests in the subject. It used to be on in the early evening at a specific time every week, but in recent years it has been moved to late afternoon with the start time changing by 5, 10, 15 minutes over the weeks making watching and even recording it more problematic.
